Are you ready for advanced guitar lessons to further your skills on the instrument? In my 6 years of playing the
guitar and coaching of students, there are several aspects of taking your skills to a higher level after learning
the guitar for a while.
I would like to share with you some of my personal experiences that I had gone through personally and
experiences that my students had at this stage in time. One of the most common issues that plague guitar players is
their mindset.
Remember the time when you first picked up your guitar? You probably had some difficulty in fingerings but you
would progress at an enormous pace once your fingers build up strength and you are able to play your first chord. A
beginner's learning curve would be steep at first but progress would be exponential.
Once most players reach an intermediate level of guitar playing, they seem to hit a wall in progress and they
get stuck in the rut. The process of progressing to an advanced stage is difficult and I had seen many students
give up on lessons because they are convinced that they lack the talent to achieve their goals.
If you are in a similar scenario, I hope the following advice would help you on with your guitar
playing journey.

1) Get rid of any negative mindset or thoughts that you do not have talent. Did you know that Yngwie Malmsteen
spend almost entire days in his early teens to practice on his guitar to achieve the mind numbing techniques that
he has? Let me tell you that it can be done with the appropriate strategies.
2) Seek professional help in advanced guitar lessons. There are plenty of options that you could choose from.
You could hire a private tutor to give you personalized guitar instructions. You might even want to consider
getting into a prestigious music school such as Berkeley Music for guitar master classes. Of course, these options
do not come cheap.
The next best alternatives that I would recommend are to use online guitar lessons. 2 of the best online guitar
lessons websites for advanced and intermediate guitarists are Jamplay and
Guitar Tricks. This was the path that I took years back and there was no
looking back since. Heck, I am still an active member in both websites and continously improving my guitar skills.
My personal recommendation is to go for cost effective online guitar lessons and supplement this later on with
more expensive private guitar instruction when required.

- Useful Music Theory For Guitarists
Most guitar players are usually adverse in learning music theory. I've got to be honest with you guys as well. The C Major scale is a special scale for many reasons. Not only is it void of accidentals (sharps and flats) but it is also the only scale that has a full series of scales sprung from it.
