BBQ Hero Bundle
Review
More is always better, right? Well, sometimes. More money is a great
thing, but then again when it comes to music, more notes are sometimes a curse. But today we won’t be talking
about money or notes, and what we will be talking about is more swag.
Now, usually guitar instructional programs don’t contain swag, because it isn’t necessary, but the creators of
BBQ Hero Guitar Bundle thought different.
In our BBQ Hero Bundle review, we’ll see if their motto of ‘more is better’ is indeed better,
or if it is just a plain flop.
So what is included in this bundle that makes it so ‘great?’
A bunch of short term memberships to other products, of course. In this bundle you receive a four month
membership to Jamplay, a four month fifty song access to Song Pond, Songsterr guitar tabs, Song Surgeon audio slow
down and pitch changing software, and – if you add an extra twenty bucks— you get Singing Success vocal
lessons thrown in.
Basically, this seems like an over glorified Easter basket of promotional materials of companies that
want you to buy their products. For eighty dollars, you get all of those short term memberships, and the depicted
vocal lessons from the bundle cost you extra.
So far, that’s a strike against the BBQ Hero Bundle. While Jamplay is a great site in and of itself, the rest of
the promotional materials offered are subpar. Song Pond offers only fifty songs, and Songsterr offers tabs, both
materials which you could get on sites such as 911tabs or Ultimate-Guitar for free. If you had been using Guitar
Pro 6, you could also download similar tabs to these songs on the Internet. Granted, Songsterr has much more
accurate tabs when compared to free tabs, we personally felt that the benefits did not outweigh the costs.
The fact that you have to pay extra for the vocal lessons when they are in fact promoted as part of the
bundle is a bit of a sneaky marketing business tactic on the sales page.
Song Surgeon is an OK audio editing software program that allow you to change song speed. Most audio
editing song tempo altering programs on the market has the problem of pitch changes when the tempo of the song is
changed. This means when you slow down the song, the pitch change to a lower key. Song Surgeon does not have this
issue and is pretty straightforward to use for this purpose.
Basically, the purpose of this bundle is to allow you to learn the songs needed to play at a barbeque and be a
musical ‘hero’ at said barbeque. Unfortunately, barbeque music usually consists of basic blues songs or other
beginner level songs. This means that spending eighty dollars to learn basic guitar songs with the chances of the
promoted companies automatically renewing your subscription once the four month period is over is a waste of cash
if you do not need them.
All in all, this bundle revokes mixed emotions and opinions.
As a typical guitar player, I feel that the basic purpose of this bundle would make you spend more in hopes
that you will forget to cancel the trials they provide after your four months have passed. For totally new
players, you would be better off using the cash to subscribe to a year of
Jamplay rather than getting other products you might not need with only four months of Jamplay.
This is because guitar playing really takes some time for your brain and body to pick up skills gradually. 1
year of subscription at Jamplay would be a good time frame for you to learn. (Jamplay has a library of guitar songs
with step by step video instructions to teach you how to play them.)
On the other hand, the saving grace for this bundle is that you can get access to stuff that might
suit you on the cheap. For example, if you had been interested in getting Singing Success all along or
want to learn how to sing with professional help, getting this course by itself would already cost nearly as much
as the cost for BBQ Guitar Hero. The smart choice here would be to go ahead to grab BBQ Guitar Hero to take
advantage of the offer. Just remember to review and cancel any memberships that you don’t need after 4 months

We hoped that this review of BBQ Guitar Hero had helped you in making a decision on a
purchase.
