Funky Wah Lead and
Rhythm
In this advanced video
guitar lesson, the pentatonic scale is used to solo over various different funky
backings. Matt Hammond demonstrates a presentation of funky/bluesy lead work in the introduction of this
video.
Later in the lesson, a
demonstration of wah-wah is used whilst playing lead followed by a presentation of some funky ryhthm
chords. * Note: Learn how to achieve that distinctive 70's funk sound and a demonstration of
how to use a wah-wah with funky rythm playing to get that distinctive 70's funk sound.
At the end of the day, we want to
encourage you to develop your own style of playing and ability to improvise. Having memorised the fretboard
map of where you can go with funky/bluesy lead work, you would then like to download a backing track from
the Matt's website to practice jamming over.
Guitar Technique: Slide Guitar on Acoustic Guitar
The first lesson teaches basic slide guitar for the acoustic guitar.
This lesson shows the main areas on the fretboard where you can take the slide. Some simple slide
licks are also introduced here.
The second lesson teaches basic slide guitar for
the acoustic guitar with a different tuning to the first lesson.
Guitar Technique: Slide Guitar on Electric
Guitar
This video guitar lesson teaches some basic slide licks
on the electric guitar.

I hoped you have enjoyed these lessons from Matt. We
have more guitar lessons lined up for you guys. Stay tuned.

About the author:
Matt is a self-taught guitarist who has been
playing for about 15 years. He should be a lot better than he is but has neglected developing his
talent for a long time! About a year ago, inspired by the brilliant Andy Mckee, he realised that he
should be doing what he loves for a living instead of being a degraded wage slave and decided to
set up a guitar lessons
website.
