2 Hand Guitar Tapping Technique

2 hand guitar tapping techniqueThe 2 hand guitar tapping technique is a method to makes rock guitar solos composed differently from each other. Just imagine the range of tunes you can reach just by using your guitar!

In addition, by the additional tunes, you can get various kinds of tones and exotic sounds to suit the theme and feelings that will be conveyed in the way you want it to be.

Here are some tips on how you can perfect this tapping technique.

Tapping will require fast fingers with strong grips on the guitar strings. Unlike the conventional way of playing the guitar – pressing down a fret and then picking the chord up for vibration, this method requires you to hold a fret and then make the vibration by pressing down the whole chord using the fingers in your other hand.

Most of time, this would also require sliding your other finger while pressing the chord to creatively make variations in a single fret position. In this case, you should already practice your fingers on how to move fast and press hard enough.

You will be using both hands in this technique so you should have a neck swing in the guitar for support. I highly recommend using new strings instead of playing with rusty strings as they may lead to cuts on your fingers.

For the guitar practice itself, do not overly press the chords onto the fret board as this would kill your playing speed. Remember that you also need vibrations for the sound to be produced. For a tightly wounded string, and a very intense grip, the tension will be enough to kill any vibration you intend to make. In that regard, strive to hit a certain balance.

If you want, you can also try varying pressures on the chord to see the differences. As the sound becomes feebler, you can notice that your grip is getting stronger. The other way around also holds true, so you better practice more to achieve the correct pressure while you play.
